About us
- Australian Private Networks Pty Ltd (APN) is a fully licensed telecommunications carrier and is a registered satellite broadband provider.
- As a telecommunications carrier APN uses all the appropriate telecommunication industry standards and best practices to design, install and maintain its network of services.
- In March of 2005, APN as part of it’s future development became majority owned by Telecards Asia Pty Ltd (TCA), a wholly owned Australian company registered in Queensland with operational headquarters in Victoria.
- TCA is part of a private group of companies that employ over 300 staff nationwide that specialise in the implementation and ongoing operational support of large-scale technology systems for companies in Australia.
Satellite IP Data (delivered by APN) is a unique satellite data service that delivers high-speed two-way data anywhere in Australia. It has been made possible by a strategic alliance with our satellite partner IPSTAR.
APN's innovative development of the latest technology provides true two way service (up to 4Mb/s inbound and 2Mb/s outbound) without the distance and cost limitations of cable or fibre.
Previously isolated business communities in remote regions can enjoy the same levels of Internet access (at typical ISDN and ADSL speeds) very cost effectively. There is no call connection or distance related fees.
The monthly rental fee and data usage fee is fixed, irrespective of the business community's location.
APN's services are “always on”. Corporate network and Internet connectivity is virtually instantaneous.

Broadband Internet Access with Superior Bandwidth Savings
APN Satellite System is a Two-Way broadband satellite communications system that provides fast Internet and interactive multimedia, as well as a wide variety of other applications.
The APN Satellite System enables end-users and service providers to bypass terrestrial communication bottlenecks, while saving satellite resources as a result of the system’s Return channel features.
It is comprised of two main elements:
Satellite Gateway - The Satellite Gateway connects the remote Satellite Modem and the system to the Internet backbone or to a broadcast server with 100BaseT interface.
It manages the system resources such as the satellite space segment and return channels.
Satellite Modem - are the terminals that connect users to the Hub via satellite.
The Satellite Modem is a low-cost, flexible and high performance 2-way satellite terminal that works in conjunction with the Satellite and the Gateway. The air interface employing advanced waveforms on forward and return channels is optimized for overall system efficiency.
Satellite Modem IPX-5100 Professional Series
